Dr. John Heidrich, PhD - Participation in Zoonotic Disease Study Featured in
National Geographic
We are very proud of our own Dr. John Heidrich, PhD, as he assisted with a study that was featured in the October 2007 issue of National Geopgraphic Magazine.
The article, Deadly Contact - How Animals and Humans Exchange Disease, by David Quammen, chronicles, in part, the research performed by Dr. Heidrich, PhD and the research team in Bangladesh. Working with rhesus macaques, the team documented two-way disease transmission between humans and monkeys - a process that can spawn new diseases.
